Leaving the theater. Not sure how I feel at the moment. It was great, for sure. Fun. But there was something lacking I can’t quite put my finger on at the moment. The emotional scenes, for the most part, felt contrived, even though it would make sense. Just not for these characters. And Benedict Cumberbatch’s performance was every bit as menacing as expected, but the character had less than substantial motivation for his actions. I would have wished a little more exposition on his story that made me understand why he is doing what he does. But, this is still a must see that is on par with J.J. Abrams’ previous installment.
